Matt Pinizzotto
The Matt Pinizzotto Trio “is an approachable and yet intense mix of straight ahead Jazz, Funk and Blues”. Matt’s approach to music – as a bandleader and guitarist – is for the music to groove. “It has to feel good…and above all, swing.” Matt distances himself from ‘flashy’ clichés, and concentrates on adding his own spin and interpretation to the time-honored tradition of jazz guitar.
A part of the Chicago Jazz scene since 1999, Matt has performed with a number of different groups at a variety of events, including playing with DePaul’s Big Band at the Jazz Times Jazz Festival at Sea, aboard the Queen Elizabeth II and at The Jazz Showcase, as well as performing at Local Clubs Like the Green Mill, Andy’s and Pete Miller's with some of Chicago’s most notable players. He has also shared the stage with distinguished musicians such as James Moody, David ‘Fathead’ Newman, Louie Bellson and Steve Turre and Randy Brecker.
